I half expected an 8-bit tumble weed to roll across my screen to sweet, sweet midi-tunes when I opened the ole’ blog today five days ago to draft this note. I’ve barely started to record my parental journey, and haven’t maintained much of a regular writing habit. To all my readers (i.e. mom), I’ll try to be better. Once the kid’s out in the wide-open world, I may have less time, but I’ll surely have more concrete things to pen, and not just wax philosophical on what might be.
Anyway, with just under two months to go, we’re in full nesting swing. I’ve got the baby’s room half painted, and I’m looking to throw in a freshly painted bathroom for good measure. It’ll be a major preparedness milestone and a huge relief when the girl’s room is finished.
We’ll also be relieved once we get our birth classes done. We both realize that having a baby has been going on without birthing classes for thousands of years, but still, we’ll feel better.
So, to this point everything is going as it should be. The baby looks to be growing properly, she’s upside down and kicking the crap out of my partner’s ribs, and we’re on track to have the house ready in time to greet her. We're crossing our fingers that this kid doesn't come too early!
Jeremy's Dad likes this and knows he is going to be a great Dad!
